Topic: AIA Registered 1 LU|HSW Course on Utilizing Gabions and Garden Walls in Biophilic Design.
Biophilic Design is an extremely popular approach to architectural design. While Biophilic Design is far more encompassing than just gabion cages and garden walls they are useful elements that can tie together multiple spaces both interior and exterior. Much of the course will focus on the hierarchy of Biophilic Design principles and attributes while establishing a common nomenclature that architects can utilize to communicate design ideas with both the client and other stakeholders and vendors throughout the design and building process. Once there is a common understanding of Biophilic Design and its benefits we will move on to how Gabions and Garden Walls can be a part of the Biophilic Design approach as well as specific studies on the health and wellness benefits of integrating these systems into the overall design. We will also cover how the specification process works with the wide variety of standard and custom product options available so architects are able to articulate the product attributes they want to see when their design comes to life.
